TikTok has a disgusting feature that causes millions to have oled burn in.

I’m talking about the TikTok feature where the screen stays on even if you don’t interact with your phone for hours. Falling asleep with TikTok running is a common habit, and there are viral posts with millions of likes from people talking about it. The problem is that the same video can loop all night, leaving parts of the screen like icons completely static, which makes burn-in more likely. There is also no way to turn this off at all.

Does TikTok believe people watch the same video 8 hours long? Why is there no feature to turn this off?

The solution is to turn the phone off an hour before bedtime. That's what's recommended by health experts anyway.

The habit is disgusting, not the feature. And by that what I mean is the habit is what's causing problems for people, not the feature.

If you’re on an iPhone you can create a shortcut that runs at a certain time everyday that takes you to your home screen. That will effectively close the app. It can signal for you it’s time to put it down for the day or if you fell asleep it will keep Tik Tok from running all night.
