Notifications not working

As the title says my notifications aren't working for some reason. I turned on notifications from both inside the app and from my app settings. I even allowed every single permission TikTok has and I still don't receive notifications from accounts I follow even when I turned on the setting that tells me if they make a post or start a live. Does anyone know how I can possibly fix this? Or should I just uninstall TikTok at this point
