How can I completely get rid of my TikTok addiction (watching it)?

I’ve tried many methods but none of them worked. I’d rather spend that time playing games or watching anime, because when I watch TikTok I just feel like I’ve wasted my time on garbage. With games or anime, yes, you also spend time, but at least you get some kind of experience out of it. After watching TikTok, however, I only feel emptiness.
Is there any alternative for a very lazy person like me?

If it's distracting you that bad just delete it, try to go a month without re downloading it

literally just delete it or download an app like opal to put the screen time to maybe 20-60 minutes. I deleted it for this exact same reason.

I just got a bunch of books and made a bunch of plans then deleted my whole account. Gotta replace that time spent scrolling with actual life and then it’s easy

I deleted the app and don’t even think about it anymore. I replaced my scrolling addiction with Reddit which feels much more informative and less addictive, plus it actually gets boring after like 10 min and then you put it down

I deleted the app and went cold turkey.

I was using TikTok while doing chores and routine stuff, and I found it hard to keep those routines without some kind of background noise, so I downloaded the NPR app and make playlists from their daily and weekly shows. I'm usually able to drum up 5-8 hours of content a day, so it filled the embarrassing amount of time I was spending scrolling, and it keeps me up on the news while feeling like a slower dopamine source. I notice that I am wanting less of it over time though.

You could also do regular podcasts if there are any you like, but personally I find it takes a frustrating amount of time to find new ones I want to listen to, so NPR was a good alternative for me.

Good luck on your detox! And congratulations for working on change. It's hard but it's worth it.

Cold turkey. Some days I clocked up to 6 hrs on the app. Delete the account. Then delete the app. Yes, I miss the community, but now I have more time for life away from my phone. There was life before TT, there is life after TT.
