Can someone explain what TikTok lives do for the speaker and me?

Does the actual person speaking on live get some points or money or what? Also if I go on their live, they’re always saying “scoop up and take everyone home”. What the heck does this mean? Can someone please explain TikTok lives to me? What is the purpose And what are the benefits?
