Is there a way to turn off the "fancy" AirPlay functionality from the latest TikTok update?

In a recent update, TikTok added some custom AirPlay functionality which streams videos without the additional UI elements and has options to auto-scroll through videos.

However, in using this "fancy" AirPlay functionality, we've lost the ability to fully screen mirror to the TV, which also means we can't see comments when sharing videos while using the app from the couch (I do this all the time with my friends when I want to share videos).

Does anyone know of a way to disable the "fancy" airplay behavior and go back to strict screen mirroring so that we can all see the comments (which of course are often the best part of a video)
