I just started my creator journey 2 months ago and I've worked hard to get to 13k followers on tiktok, but the news about the tiktok deal going through is stressing me out. I know nothing is certain but even the idea that we'll have to switch to a new app is stressing me out. What do other creators think about this? Im new so I havent been able to diversify my following to other apps yet.
There's no good answer. Every social media site/app that is based in the US is literally surveillance spyware for Peter Thiel and Palantir. Many have diversified, but none of the other sites will singlehandedly get the reach of Tiktok. That's why they're taking it away. We get too much info about the shady shit that pedophiles and genocidal war-mongers get up to when they think we're not looking. Look for an open source platform, and then branch out from there. Even Bluesky seems to be blue-pilled, spreading division and protecting Israel. At this point, we just have to move on with the shitty tools we have.
