Has the 2x speed been weird for anyone else?

Usually holding either side of my screen will start and continue fast forward as long as I’m holding it. Lately, when I try to hold the side of my screen it will fast forward for like a millisecond or two and then stop. Sometimes the left side works better than holding the right side but neither are really working anymore and I have no idea why or what to do…it’s so annoying.
