Finally cracked 200k views after 9 months of basically nothing

I've been grinding on this account for 9 months. Posted almost daily. Tried every format people said works. Nothing landed consistently.

Most videos would get maybe 300-600 views and just stop.

Occasionally one would randomly hit 5k and I'd think "okay finally figured it out" then the next 10 would all die again. The worst part wasn't the low views. It was not knowing what I was doing wrong. Like I'd post something I thought was good and it would flop. Then post something random and it would do decent. Made zero sense.

I was about to just accept that maybe my niche doesn't work on TikTok or maybe the algorithm just doesn't like my content or whatever excuse I could come up with.

Then I stopped posting for like 2 weeks and actually looked at what was happening in my videos.

Not just "this one did well, this one didn't" but actually breaking down where people were leaving and trying to understand why.

Found out I was hemorrhaging viewers in the first 6 seconds on basically every video. Didn't matter how good the rest was, if they left in the first few seconds the video was dead. Started testing different openings. Realized my mistake was trying to be mysterious or build up to something. People don't have patience for that. They need to know immediately what they're getting or they're gone.

Changed how I approached the first few seconds - just showed the most interesting part right away instead of teasing it.

That alone made a massive difference.

The other thing that changed everything was realizing my videos looked basically the same throughout. Like the frame at second 3 looked identical to the frame at second 15. People's brains just tune out when nothing's changing visually even if you're saying interesting stuff. Started making sure something changed every 2-3 seconds. Different angle, zoom in, text appearing, anything. Retention jumped significantly just from keeping things visually moving.

But here's what actually made this consistent instead of random:

I found tools that let me see exactly where the problems were before posting. Not after 1000 people already saw it and left, but before it even went live. Shows you frame by frame where retention is going to drop and explains why. "Your opening is too slow" or "nothing changes visually between second 8-14" or whatever the specific issue is.

Then I could fix it before posting instead of guessing.

That's what took me from random performance to actually understanding what works. My last video hit 212k views. The one before that got 8.9k. Before I started doing this pre-check thing, I'd be lucky to break 1k.

The difference between videos that die and videos that blow up isn't usually the concept.

It's tiny execution things you can't see unless you're actually measuring them.

If you're stuck posting consistently with nothing working, you probably don't have a content problem. You have a visibility problem. You can't fix what you can't see. I'm putting this out here because I wasted 9 months basically guessing. If someone had told me "hey you're losing everyone in the first 5 seconds because your opening is weak" I could've fixed that in one day.

Instead I spent months thinking I needed better ideas or better editing or whatever.

Got a DM asking about the tools so I thought I'd drop them here. I was using goviral for a while but they were all talk, applying their recommendations got my videos less reach. Also tried creafyco, same result.

The best one I've ever used is tiktokalyzer.ai It analyzes my videos and gives me the best times to post it (depending on niche and audience), it gives feedback frame by frame, scores your pacing, visuals, captions, and gives tips on what to fix to boost retention. It’s not a follower bot thing, it just helps you make videos that actually perform better organically. Definitely worth checking out if you want real growth.

THIS!!! Apps like TikTok people expect everything instantly- so you are completely right to give the best opening liner instantly. People swipe so fast getting instant gratification so if they don’t get it in the first few seconds they will swipe. Well done for cracking it! I’ll give you a follow. But if your videos are crap I’ll tell you hahaha I’m just kidding 😄
