How do I avoid having my videos recommended to my own country specifically?

Okay so I live in a small and dangerous eastern european country and do not want my tiktoks seen specifically by users from my country due to the possibility of someone recognizing me and me getting into actual real life danger. What do I do? I just want the usual US-UK audience. I've heard people say "use a vpn" but I've already made the account and I assume its locked to my country now.
