Should I start a new TikTok account when changing the type of content I’m posting?

Hi everyone,

I’m just wondering if I should completely start over when swapping from one type of content to another or should I keep the same account?

I used to post gaming / twitch related content. I got my followers up to 2.5k and I had a couple posts that went decentish so I have 80k likes. I used to get pushed to about 500-1000 people and get about 100+ likes.

I took a break and when I decided I wanted to do different content I went through and hid all my content and changed my name. I am now posting book/booktok related content and I try to post 2-3 times a week. Since the change I’m stuck getting pushed to about 200-300 people and likes are sitting around 20.

I’m just wondering if the jump from gaming to books is too different or if my stats make it harder to get pushed out?

Basically just wanting thoughts on if I should stick with it or just create a whole new account?

Well, if you stick with the account by mixing gaming and books, you'll have a split community where people live gaming and others books. But if you start a new tiktok account, that new one can be used for either gaming or books. That's what I did when I came back with 3 new separate accounts. All 3 of them are focused on the main topic so it won't overlapped. I think is better to have more than 2 accounts focusing on one topic.
