Does reposting actually hurt?

Yes. Tiktok uses some kinda advanced hash something something ID system that fingerprints your video the moment you give it to em. They save it too, deleting it won't help. As soon as they have the fingerprint for that video, its wraps. I heard if you want to change it and 100% dodge the reupload punishment, you gotta cut about second from the video, change something in the visuals, and something else but i forgot what it was. Point being if you ever need to reupload the same video, you need to find a way to turn it into a different video file with different metadata on the back end. I also heard you should private the first instance of the video instead of deleting it but I have no idea why.

i remember re-posting a video to fix an error and tiktok didn't pushed it at all. biggest regret.
