Editing app?

I’ve always heard that don’t use the in app editor and go with CapCut. Although I do like ig’s editor a lot better. Seems a better quality. Just curious what is your go to video editor? And do captions really make a difference? I always do a on screen text and forgo the captions unless it’s on ig because the sound is almost always off when you scroll. Thoughts?
