I hate tiktok with a passion but are you really telling me I can't change my username in the desktop browser version of this terrible environment?

Long story short, I can't change my username whatsoever, no options anywhere and according other sources I am forced to use the app. I have to install this disgusting app on my OWN phone just to do this so you awful people can snag a load of info off my phone. Is this really the case?
