how do i see a message on browser when it says [This message type isn’t supported. Download TikTok app to view this message.] ?

so for context, im speaking to this guy on tiktok browser (the only way i use tiktok, explained why soon) asking him if his band will ever reunite, and he sent me something, not sure if its a photo or video and i cant see it. i also can not download it as my parents do not want me having it and if i DO download it they get a notification. so could someone figure out how i can see it?
