Why is my video quality so bad?

Hi, no matter how I film on my IPhone 15 Pro camera, whether 4K or 1080p in 30 or 60 fps, on TikTok the quality is very bad for others.

I cut on CapCut and export in 1080p 30fps, I have turned off everything with Smart HDR etc. and also have in my camera itself High Efficiency off and Maximum Compility on, also the upload via the pc or directly from the tiktok studio unfortunately it didn’t work…

Does anyone know more?

TikTok compression is brutal, even with perfect export settings the platform will crush your quality when uploading. Try exporting at slightly higher bitrate than what you think you need - the app will compress it down anyway but starting with more data helps

Also check if you're uploading during peak hours, sometimes the compression gets worse when servers are busy

tiktok recompresses everything on upload pretty aggressively, the trick most people miss is exporting from capcut at a higher bitrate than you think you need, like crank it up in the advanced settings before you export.

also make sure your tiktok upload quality setting is turned on in the app settings under "data saver" - its off by default and kills quality for everyone watching on mobile data 📱

If you haven't reached a few thousand views they will show your upload in 540p. Once you break that number they 'might' show a heavily compressed HD version that doesn't look much better. I have the same videos on YouTube shorts and the difference is striking, like literally night and day.
