I dont know about TikTok, but I know Facebook uses things like your phones being near each other often for long periods to recommend people to each other

I made one, it is a faceless account same thing no syncing contacts, no phone number. No one, not even my TT contact’s have found me. Yet when I am scrolling I do regularly see people I am connected with on my main even though I have never searched for them. They are not large creators nor do the fall in with what I have trying to build as an FYP on that account

I don’t trust those settings at all. Unless you’re using a VPN for all your different accounts, TT knows it’s you. Just having the app on your phone gives it information about every device on your WiFi. It tracks your browser, all your apps. Whether or not it decides to expose you, it’s a gamble. It shows creators regionally, by other connections it gathers from the collected data. And just because there’s a privacy setting doesn’t mean it does anything. They get caught for violations, you get $15 or whatever in 3 years from a class action lawsuit. Big deal.

I don't sync contacts but had one person I know online tell me they have seen my account. When I asked how, they said it was a notification I had started on Tik Tok.

Did you use same phone?

I mean, they still know it’s you and they are gaining valuable User information for advertisers based off the fact that you have a second and secret account there is not linked to any of your contact info so no worries there. The real concern you should have is for whether or not TikTok‘s addiction oriented algorithm is able to understand it needs to give you your space and not parade your private fucking account in front of goddamn everybody who knows you and their aunt Sally.

I am hypersensitive to Security and my desires for meaningful data collection from companies who very much make their entire profit off of me being the product. Me and my attention and my time.

Honestly, isn’t the idea you’re so worried about it a good enough reason to not even fucking have any accounts at all on there?? like I know that you are not private for sure, but I do have questions about the wisdom as well as capacity for fucking TikTok of all things to knowingly ensure your second account thru definitely would like ypu to have as well as the first.

I am well aware that TikTok is lying to me whenever I go through and in a very manner screen my privacy settings for no inkling of information I am not comfortable sharing to them. like i am not that predictble or thpical for my demographic, and they fucking know this shit and send me way too clean recommendations. Like fantastic recommendations. But y’all shouldn’t even close to know me like that for real.

just go through and block all of your friends on that account then you can't be recommended to them and even if they somehow searched you there would be no account found
