Tiktok Notifications not showing correct amount of likes, comments etc

I’m experiencing a glitch in my TikTok app where the notification count in the bottom menu bar isn’t displaying correctly. It should show 99+ notifications, but it’s consistently showing a lower number, even though I’m clearly receiving more interactions on my videos.

What should I do to fix this?
