What I use instead of Notion

Notion and Google Docs both push you to think in lists. TikTok videos don't really work that way. I'd plan everything out in a Notion and then sit in front of my phone completely stuck. I switched to something new.

The process has three parts all completed in Causal.

  1. Sourcing inspiration. You pull in clips, formats, references, anything you're responding to or riffing on. You're not writing anything yet, just collecting and dropping things onto the canvas.

  2. Second, annotating. You mark up what specifically caught your attention: the hook, the pacing, the cut at the end. This is the step that makes saved inspiration useful instead of a pile of videos you'll never revisit.

  3. Third, mapping scenes. You lay out what you're going to shoot and in what order, loose, not a full script, but spatial enough that you can move things around and see whether the flow is good before picking up a camera

End of that: something you can actually go film.
