What I use instead of Notion
Notion and Google Docs both push you to think in lists. TikTok videos don't really work that way. I'd plan everything out in a Notion and then sit in front of my phone completely stuck. I switched to something new.
The process has three parts all completed in Causal.
-
Sourcing inspiration. You pull in clips, formats, references, anything you're responding to or riffing on. You're not writing anything yet, just collecting and dropping things onto the canvas.
-
Second, annotating. You mark up what specifically caught your attention: the hook, the pacing, the cut at the end. This is the step that makes saved inspiration useful instead of a pile of videos you'll never revisit.
-
Third, mapping scenes. You lay out what you're going to shoot and in what order, loose, not a full script, but spatial enough that you can move things around and see whether the flow is good before picking up a camera
End of that: something you can actually go film.
