Ads every 4 videos, and sometimes the first video when opening the app is an ad

Does everyone get an ad average every 4 videos? I tried training the app by closing it for several hours every time I see an ad, but that doesn't seem to prevent more ads from coming up. There never used to be this many ads. I cleared the cache, but still got ads. I just took it off completely and may try install it in a few days/weeks to see if it's better. Are there any alternatives in the mantime?
