Has anyone experienced weird bugs with messages?

So last night I got a text from a friend that was really weird and out of context and it took me by surprise, it also didn't have the chat bubble she uses, on her cell phone the message didn't appear at all and that same message was sent by me. I discussed with another friend, who also experienced the same thing, and someone they talked had the same thing happening to them with 3 other different people. I dont think that any of us got hacked, and a lot of us experienced this. It's really odd, has anyone experienced this? And how is that possible? I can send the messages sent, they all seem somewhat weird.
