Alternatives?

Okay so maybe this doesn't exist, but I really would like an alternative to tiktok. I miss being very up to date on goings on in media and somewhat in news. I do read the news every morning but i think it is important to have access to first hand accounts and a lot of my fyp was videos from people who were actively involved in big news stories or on the ground to witness them. Both serious political things and silly light hearted things.

I have been looking for how to fill this void. I won't use tiktok again as I refuse to sign the terms and conditions that updated in January. I have tried reels and yt shorts but I hate both. I have tried skylight but it has an awful ui and barely works on a good day. I have also tried substack videos which is almost right, but the videos are usually outdated and the app does not like to work consistently.

Is there anything else that I could try that has a bigger American audience?
