New Algorithm

The new algorithm is actually trash for both creators and casual users. I’m a newer creator with ~2000 followers, but I used to get anywhere from 1,000-100k views on any given post and since mid-June I’m not cracking 500 views. My FYP is absolutely awful. I’m not seeing any of the creators I usually see and it’s all random videos. I’m hearing that TT is showing your content to followers first instead of a test audience on the FYP which completely defeats the purpose of TT. I’m getting more views on FB reels and Instagram than TT. I had a video get 3k views on FACEBOOK and 300 views on TT. It’s so frustrating because I was just getting traction.

I guess I’m just venting, but if TT doesn’t fix it I’m done with it. This is ridiculous. Why did they ruin the one good thing about it?

my usual is at least above 3k views. my latest that I posted yesterday is currently sitting at 424 views after falsely being flagged as “undisclosed”. I appealed and now it’s just stuck lol. Mind you I posted the same video on Instagram and it has 3k views. Frustrating when you think it’s a platform wide issue and then you see others posting the same shit and pulling 10k+ views every video… I don’t get it

app has gone to absolute sht in the last 2-3 weeks. i have no idea what the purpose behind whatever they did to the algorithm is. it doesn’t do anybody any good and people are just gonna stop using the platform

I'm glad I came across this post. I only have a little over 250 followers, and my videos normally get 300-500 views. But over the last two weeks, if a video gets 20 views, that's a lot. I couldn't figure out why theere was such a sudden shift.

The part where you said TikTok is showing followers instead of the initial audience is happening to me. On like five of my accounts whenever I post a video it gets stuck at like 0 to 20 views for the whole day and then at 8 PM pretty much every single time then it gets pushed out to the FYP. At least they’re getting pushed but like it still it’s kind of annoying.
