Content stolen

So I posted a clip on here of a fail execution on CODMW3 and I didnt and still don’t know how to watermark videos.

My video was stolen and added to tik tok and I’m not sure if it counts as intellectual property so I’m worried I’ll get in trouble for marking it as such.

Both my sibling and I have commented stating that it was my video, I just wanted them to at least credit me, but they just erased our comments.

It’s been almost a 2 years and still nothing has been done and it’s one of their most popular videos on their account.

What do I do?

A post to the video they uploaded. They cropped out my cod gamer tag (which has been changed since the original posting)

I always use Youcut pro for editing. It's really easy to slap a quick watermark on the video or create one as an image with black background then use blending to make the background disappear... or just start with no background color to begin with so it's transparent in photo editor, might be smarter thing for me to do.

But yeah, putting your brand name (user name) on the video on a corner at least is vital to not only protect the video from theft but also protect your brand name as it's basically a common law trademark you own. If you're not actively using it anyone can easily use it then they'll have first use of trademark, and they can prevent you from using it. So yeah, pretty important to watermark your videos going forward. And a copyright notice at the end adds a bigger layer of legal protection.

Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer, this is all just my opinion.
