weird tiktok version appearing when making a new account

I tried making a new TikTok account, and then all of a sudden TikTok froze. I had to restart the app, and then as i was doing so, this kind of weird version of TikTok appeared. It was very restricted. I couldn't search videos. I couldn't direct message, and it had this weird alternative layout. I have no idea what it is about, and if anyone could give me context as to what it is

I would also like to point out that I had never private my account ever, so that's also weird why it did that

and as to how I fixed this, I had to log out, restart the app, then after doing so, some weird stuff happened in the base TikTok, and I had to end up reinstalling the app itself, and about that weird stuff, I wasn't able to view my liked videos. I couldn't message people, and when I tried opening the videos in my inbox (like the comments people replied to), it gave me an error saying it couldnt load.
