Tiktok keeps sending old messages?

Me and my boyfriend use tiktok to text, and more recently ive realised that tiktok is resending OLD messages, ranging from a few days old to even over a year old, and even though our messages take a long time to load, now its just completely glitching and doing this. Has anyone else experienced this?
