Its called engagement. If people are seeing and commenting on their videos, they are essentially monetising the video which is earnings to the tiktoker.

the algorithm is basically designed to boost the dumbest stuff. outrage and blanket statements get people to comment even if it's just to argue. that's engagement and it runs the whole machine. half the people making those videos are just copying whatever they saw go viral last week. they don't need to believe it. they just need someone to type a paragraph in the comments.

the sad part is a lot of folks watching it don't realize it's bait. they take it personally and the cycle keeps going.

There is one person who is constanly posting gender war videos. I reported her but tiktok keep saying there's no hate speech.

Clout, outrage and hate gets attention which pushes people to comment and engage with the content and then that person becomes successful in terms of what they want (attention) but because that kind of content gets most of the engagement it gets pushed everywhere and then people copy and before you know it we just got brain rot podcasts left right and centre. It’s bad and you can see the effects of it in real life

SOME Comments are so sexist I get irritated just by reading them, they always support the girl (even if she’s in the wrong or she’s on abuser depending on scenario) if if they are kids or not. They also say “GET it gurrrLl!” Or something stupid like that whenever the girl hurts the man. Not only that, they relentlessly mock people with special needs or physical disabilities (That’s also Instagram).
