Closed Captioning Gone

I don't even have the option to turn the closed captioning on anymore. It just disappeared one day and now I can't understand half of the videos I watched. I cannot find any fixes anywhere and half the results when I try google are just Tiktok trying to get me to watch more videos that I cannot understand. Does ANYONE know a fix?
