is it that hard for a company worth over 200b$ to implement a 2fa system?

I’ve been trying to change the email address on my TikTok account for several days, but the process has been extremely frustrating.

At first, every attempt failed with the message “Something went wrong, please try again later,” without any useful information about what was happening.

Yesterday, the request finally went through. I entered my new email address and the verification code, but immediately received: “You’ve made too many attempts, please try again later.”

The confusing part is that pressing “Resend code” sends the exact same code, and trying again results in the same error. There’s no clear explanation of the issue, no indication of how long the restriction lasts, and no way to complete the email change.

Account security features should be reliable and provide clearer feedback when something goes wrong.
