Group chat notifications

I recently got added to a groupchat and had to reinstall the app due to lag, it doesn't give me notifications from it even though all push is on and nothing is muted, is this normal and just a glitch? If so how can I fix it, I've tried restarting, reinstalling, relogging, playing with notification settings, cause I still get notifications from my other friends regular dms just not the groupchat.
