Comment notifications?

Are notifications for your comments ever sporadic? Like no rhyme or reason for which notifications you receive or don’t receive.

I receive notifications consistently for maybe half of my comments, yet the other half gets nothing. There are times where I go back to my comment to find a post, or because I was waiting on a response, only to find out I’ve received likes or replies that I wasn’t notified about. My first theory was that I’m only getting notified about my more popular comments, but that’s not even the case because I do get notified about one or two likes/comments often enough.

Internet searches tell me to update the app, clear my cache, or make sure my notifications are turned on for comments. All that is done but nothing has changed. This has been going on for some weeks now, too.

Sorry if this isn’t the right spot to ask! Google was bringing me to many different r/tiktok posts but none of the questions I saw addressed this specifically.
