tiktok isnt letting me follow

Okay, so I just made a tiktok account but it isnt letting me follow my friends or other people. when i follow them it shows that i havent and when i go to check it says that i never followed them even though i did. i feel so sad because i cant follow my moots back. i only have tiktok on my pc as i cant get it on my phone (not avail.)
