Question about the usage of sounds?

I looked at Jarred Jermaines videos and he’s been getting less views. He always tracked the viral sounds but the most popular videos of his were in 2022 and 2023 but there were a few from 2024 and 2015. So I’m curious have we moved away sounds? Or are they more niche? Thank you.
