Boomers love to guilt-trip about money

Bad parents love guilt tripping you about how much time, money, food, clothes etc they've "given" to you as if that wasn't the absolute bare minimum requirement as a parent. They chose to bring a life into the world, they owe that child everything under the sky and more.

I was paying my parents bills at 16. 20 years later they still need my help.

That would be true, relatively, for every parent since the beginning of time. It's not unique to the current generation of parents.

Choosing to have kids is a personal and lifestyle decision made with a partner, not a financial decision. You do need resources to raise children, but it's not part of the equation for what offspring bring into a family.
