I have been on Reddit for 20 years and worked with a lot of really big brands to build their Reddit presence organically, so this is a topic I am always super curious and interested in hearing how other people are handling it.
I also have seen threads of brands really struggling (https://www.reddit.com/r/AppBusiness/comments/1x1ylzq/i_just_rage_quit_reddit_on_my_business_account/) with a lot of the changes here on Reddit, so curious to hear how anyone here is handling Reddit when it comes to organic reddit marketing?
I've been learning this myself, and Reddit seems quite different from platforms like Twitter. People here respond better to genuine conversations than regular promotional posts.
I've been focusing on joining discussions where I can actually contribute something useful, rather than trying to promote my projects straight away.
I'd also pay more attention to meaningful replies and conversations than follower counts. Curious to hear what's worked for others over the long term.
Reddit rewards topic-specific usefulness more than a steady publishing cadence. Pick a small number of communities where you can answer real web-development questions, read each rule set, and contribute without forcing a portfolio link into the reply. Let interested people discover your profile, and keep outreach to cases where someone explicitly asks for help or a recommendation—unsolicited DMs usually feel like spam here.
Followers and raw karma are weak business metrics. Track qualified profile visits, conversations started by other users, direct mentions, repeat recognition in the same communities, and leads that reference a specific comment. A simple spreadsheet with subreddit, thread, comment permalink, question type, follow-up depth, and any downstream inquiry is enough. Judge comments by whether they resolved the question and created trust, not by whether one post spiked.

Is social media marketing becoming less about followers and more about distribution?
# Is social media marketing becoming less about followers and more about distribution? A brand can have 100K followers and still get little reach, while a small account can get millions of views from one post. So what matters more today: **building a large audience or creating content that algorithms distribute widely?** **Curious what SMM people think.**
i helped him go from a few thousand views to 100k+. now he hates what we make.
i help a guy with his content, and lately i feel weird taking any credit for the numbers. he makes beautiful short videos, properly shot, with a lot of thought behind the lighting and the edit. those usually get a few thousand views. his work needs the reach, so i suggested trying some of what's already working. copying trending concepts and formats, adapting them to his style, using trending audio. those started clearing 100k, some way past that. it kept happening, and eventually “let’s try a few” turned into most of what we make. when we first started working together, we'd spend our conversations talking about shots, where the light would be, how long to hold on something. now we're mostly talking about whether a trend is still alive and if we can get ours posted in time. he told me he feels like he's losing a little piece of his soul for views. i didnt really know what to say because i'm the one who encouraged it, and the reason i gave him still holds up: more people are seeing his work. except i'm starting to wonder what that's worth if the work they're seeing is stuff he doesn't want to make. i don't think the trend videos are beneath him or that being proud of something means it deserves 100k views. but we went into this thinking the trend stuff would bring enough attention to support the work he actually cared about. instead, every time we plan one of his original ideas, we're comparing it to what following a trend could do, and it gets harder to justify spending the time. for people who manage accounts for a living, have you actually made that balance work? i'm interested in how you decide what gets made when the stuff your client loves consistently gets a fraction of the views. we said we'd keep doing both, but that hasn't meant much in practice.
Benifits of not using smartphone
I am(21M) we are 4 members in my family my younger sister and my parents . My mom runs a small shop and my father too. We all have smartphones except my mom. Over 5 years we are using phones. But my don't have a smartphone or any phone she doesn't even know how to use it. At the night when father comes home and she too then she watch some serial in phone. I noticed she is more happier than 3 of us. She is extremely focused on her work and doesn't complain for anything and handle all the situation very wisely. She knows the real world and not influenced by the fake social media world.
New TikTok account had 100k+ views, now two of my last three posts don't get any For You views AT ALL
I started posting five days ago. Several early videos reached around 100k-200k views, almost entirely from For You views (99%+) Here is the progression of views from video to video over the last couple days since I made the account: 150k -> 150k -> 55k -> 200k -> 75k -> !! 390 !! -> 11k -> !! 24 !! One reached 390 views, with **99.5% from my profile and less than 0.1% from For You**. The next reached 11k views, with **96.4% from For You** The newest had just **25 views after roughly 1 hour**. Traffic sources aren't available yet but I am pretty confident that this one has no For You views as well. All the other successful videos have 95%+ of views from For You I haven't found any For You ineligibility warnings or account notices. Everything was posted through Buffer, including the successful videos. I am confident that this can't be explained by a drop in quality. Has anyone experienced this? How did you figure out whether it was a review/restriction issue or something else?
Portfolio Check SMM
So I've been applying for almost 2 weeks now, and I still can't get to the next stage. And i think my portfolio is the problem. If you have time, pls check my portfolio and tell me whats wrong and whats needed to be improved. Here's my portfolio: [https://portfolio-smm-git-main-220000001074s-projects.vercel.app/](https://portfolio-smm-git-main-220000001074s-projects.vercel.app/)
This is regarding how much to charge.
Basically at this point, I don’t know how much brands are willing to pay. How do other creators charge? I want to know, I’m very curious. I have about 48k followers, with good reach.. almost 150-300k views per reel and i make food recipes content. Can someone help me with this? Agencies don’t wanna pay even half of the rates. It’s really getting difficult to make money here 😭
