I use Flick Social for work but lately I've been getting a "lost connection" error. This happens almost weekly. Now, I'm getting an error message that "This app is not accessible right now...". Anyone else having issues? Is there a workaround or am I stuck until Flick gets their act together??

I started making reels in July about dev tools. I'm a software engineer, not an editor, so I put most of my effort into getting the editing right. Every reel went through several rounds of fixes: captions, zooms, sound, B-roll, music. My reels have now crossed 50k views, but for the first 55 days none of that editing work moved the numbers. Then I grouped the reels by topic and the pattern was obvious: "Get this paid thing for free" reels: median 1,482 views (3 reels, all 1,476 or more) Big brand plus some drama: median 1,211 (6 reels) "Here's a useful tool": median 522 (3 reels, none above 692) My own product: 429 (1 reel) The free and tool ranges didn't overlap at all. Same person, same editing, same face, and 3x the views depending on what the reel was about. The second thing that hurt was a 17-day break in the middle. The reel I came back with had my best engagement ever (people who saw it liked it) and only 185 views. Every other reel got between 400 and 1,900. What I took from it as a small account: topic and the hook headline decide reach before the edit even exists. Polish keeps the people who already see the reel, but it doesn't get the reel seen. And gaps are expensive. Small sample, I know. For people who've grown past this stage: did editing quality ever start to matter for you, or was it always topic and consistency?

I was creating slow buildups like a complete amateur. Now my strongest visual or most compelling number arrives exactly at second 5. That's where the hook that genuinely holds people. 3. **Any gap beyond 1 second absolutely kills your retention** Tracked this obsessively, anything past 1.2 seconds makes people think the video stopped. What feels like natural comfortable pacing to you reads as complete dead time to someone scrolling. Cut significantly tighter than feels normal. 4. **Visual variety is absolutely critical** If nothing changes on screen for more than 3 seconds, attention vanishes without warning. I started constantly rotating camera angles, cutting to b-roll, moving text placement, literally anything to maintain constant visual movement. Went from losing 50% at the halfway mark to keeping 70%. 5. **Rewatch rate is dramatically more important than most people realize** Videos people watch more than once get pushed exponentially harder by the algorithm. Started planting subtle details that aren't obvious first viewing, editing faster, adding elements worth discovering on rewatch. Rewatch percentage jumped from 8% to 31% and reach went completely through the roof. Honestly the biggest shift was abandoning all guesswork and actually measuring what was happening at every second. Came across this one app that goes way beyond showing where people drop off, it literally tells you why and exactly how to correct it. That's when everything transformed. Went from averaging 300 views to hitting 18k in about 4 weeks. Regular analytics show you people are leaving. This one shows the exact second, the actual reason, and what to adjust before your next post. If you're uploading consistently but stuck below 1k views, your content isn't the problem. You just don't know what's genuinely working versus what you assume is working. Listen, I'm sharing this because breaking through was honestly one of the hardest things I've tackled. I really wish someone had just explained exactly what needed fixing when I was stuck there. Would have saved months of confusion and doubt. So that's what I'm doing now for anyone who needs it.
I didn’t pay for engagement & I haven’t posted much, I’m trying to figure out how I gained almost 20 followers over the past 2-3 days. I know which videos of mine have higher engagement, and when you click on the analytics, it’ll tell you how many new followers were gained from that video. Some have liked content & followed, some just follow out of the blue it seems but I have more profile views. Most of these profiles may have a profile pic but no content, just likes and reposts.

People are incentivized to post whatever gets the most attention, while platforms are incentivized to keep us scrolling for as long as possible. And then there's the growing number of bots, AI-generated content, fake engagement, and accounts that aren't necessarily interested in genuine conversations. It sometimes feels like we're all participating in a giant competition for attention instead of actually connecting with each other. A small team I'm part of has been asking a question: **What would social media look like if we designed it around genuine human interaction instead of maximizing engagement?** We're actually working on a new decentralized social platform based on that idea. We're not claiming we can solve every problem. But we believe that if you start from scratch, you can make fundamentally different decisions about how a social platform should work.
