Yeah but what would private insurance companies do if we didn't funnel them billions?

How much was the flight? Genuinely want to compare the total to a hospital bill. I 100% believe the total trip would be cheaper, but I'd want the numbers.

I had to go to the ER in March because I bonked my head on concrete. They did a CT scan (found two skull fractures that would heal on their own), an EKG to make sure my heart wasn't to blame for me passing out, and gave me a lidocaine patch for my spine (the real reason I blacked out and bonked my noggin). No pain killers or anything else.

We got a discount because my husband is a hospital employee. After insurance it cost us $7,500 out of pocket.

I lived in China for eight years before having to come back and live in the US to take care of my elderly dad. What she's saying is spot on. It applies to getting MRIs, surgery, anything you can think of. Also dental care there is INSANELY CHEAP there compared to here and it's high quality. All of this is without ANY health insurance AT ALL. You can't comprehend what a total racket health care is here if you've never experienced a system that works somewhere else. In China I got everything taken care of same day, super fast, super cheap like she did. In the US... I've been here two years and I can't afford health insurance. My only plan is to reduce risk as much as possible and hope nothing happens. It's worse than a third world country here for people like me.

The trade off in China is that doctors aren't all filthy rich millionaires there. They're well off for sure but not gangster rich like here. And the vampiric wealth sucking, life draining healthcare industry basically doesn't exist there.

If yall think you're better off than Chinese people...unless you're in the top 10% you are NOT. Ten years ago maybe. Twenty years ago sure, but now...we're just cattle.

It is important to consider that China has a median income of about 4,800 USD. So maybe it’s inexpensive for us Americans, but in China it could be different.

I might be wrong tho, if so please correct me.

Its cheaper to fly to the other side of the world for medical care than it is to pay for health insurance and go to the hospital in america. Who woulda thought?

indubadiblyy•about 2 hours ago•19

Hmmm what is this. In usa they say socialist/communist govt will be horrible for health care. Now this person is saying socialized medicine is better than usa?

Fast cheap efficient health care is the sign of an advanced community.
