I'm not a big fan of the idea going around that barely feature length movies are somehow inherently better than longer movies. Sure, some movies are longer than they should be, but 90 minutes is only the perfect length for some movies, not every movie.

I like long movies. Rest resonates.

or, 300 one million dollar movies...

And don't forget the preachy, out of touch dialogue! Working class America loves being shunned by a bunch of Hollywood writers!

Realistically the only way a lot of studios can get a quality movie made with a total budget of $300 million is buying $300 million worth of Nike and hoping Phil Knight throws enough money at Laika for a new movie.
