i'm gonna miss everyone. TikTok was security blanket app

Pretty wild one of the priorities of our country right now is banning a social media app.

Question, is it just the apps they’re gonna be blocked? Can we simply go to the website or are we now in the business of blocking websites based on what country they come from?

I'm curious where the TikTok store owners are going? Any apps currently out there that allow for what TikTok does? Being able to shoot live, upload content and link items seems pretty unique to TT. What're the alternatives?

Trying to be positive, but does anyone think there will be a YouTube resurgence after the ban? Think “glory days” or 2014-2019. I think if they can fix their awful algorithm and make shorts more of a thing, then a lot of TikTok content can transfer over. With multi-part ten minute video it already feels like YouTube on there sometimes

You’re going to lose this app. And for those you who claim that this isn’t a ban, you’re right, it’s not a ban. Here is the TLDR on what is happening.

This year, a bill was signed into law that requires TikTok divest from its parent company,Byte Dance. If this cannot be done, then TikTok is not allowed to operate within the US. That’s it. And when you can’t operate within the US, your effectively banned. That’s why people keep referring to this as a ban.
