girl put live crabs in air fryer :(

there’s a tik tok circulating (i can’t get myself to watch it) of a girl who put 2 live crabs in a glass air fryer while they were fully still alive. she seasoned them first and everything and i’ve seen so many tik tok responses made from outrage over it which is how i even learned ab the video in the first place. i’m assuming she put them in a glass air fryer so she can watch them suffer and die. people said that their legs were twitching and u literally saw them anxiously suffering :( it’s almost 12 am and i genuinely cannot relax with this on my mind, knowing that people exist out there who find enjoyment out of making animals suffer like this. has anyone seen the tik tok im talking ab? im sick to my stomach and can’t fathom this level of animal cruelty anymore.

I saw the video. She said something about being scared of them as she was dumping them out of the bag, and when they were quite literally frying/burning alive, she said something about feeling bad (or something along those lines). She boiled the potatoes before putting them in the air fryer but didn’t have the decency or empathy to humanely kill the crabs first.

I get it. It feels Inhumane and sick to boil them alive, just because they are animals doesn’t mean they don’t feel pain or suffering. At least have the decency to end their life before eating them.

Ugh this is triggering and upsetting

Cooking crabs and lobsters alive is common practice in many countries. It's disgusting and partly the reason I've stopped eating them.

Lot of people asking why this is different from boiling them alive, but, most guidance I've seen now is to cut the crabs brain basically.

It's where the "this kills the crab" meme comes from.

So maybe it's not that different, but why would you do either?

I’m unhappy at even seeing your title about it

How is this ethically different than boiling them alive?

If you’re not vegan, start now. It’s even worse what they do to chickens and other animals for us to eat ☹️
