Why is tiktok all of a sudden feeding me just the most basic white-girl content?

Now for the record, i am a white woman, but my feed has consisted of mainly things that interests me, local stuff, funny videos, music and politics. All of a sudden when i opened my tiktok today the feed is just full of whitegirl stuff. Constantly! Influencers, makeup stuff, fucking travelling videos like "POV u n the girlies living it up in ibizaaaa omggg", videos that can only be constituted as commercials for dumb products, endless videos of girl influencers showing of their boyfriends and their dumb white heteronormative relationships. It feels just completely brainrotted. Is this what "normal people" get up in their feeds? How do i get this to go away? How do i get my old feed back?

Literally me too. My ENTIRE feed was politics, and I liked it that way. All of a sudden this week, I’m getting bullshit videos about makeup and clothing and cooking and shit??

Sometimes I’ve had sites do this, generally swiping and reloading the app and reloading the content in the app fixes it, if that fails try searching a few keywords related to the content you like and interacting with the good stuff in the search results

One word: suppression. That's almost always the answer to questions like this. They don't want you seeing what's going on, so they shove useless shit in your face. But you have to fight against it. Scroll away immediately, interact with the content you DO enjoy. Tell the algorithm what you want. I've had to deal with this, too, to a certain extent. I'll be scrolling and they start pushing that mindless crap so I just scroll on as fast as I can and push as many buttons as I can on stuff I actually like. You have to scroll with intention, silly as that sounds.

Hate the Fact that TIkTok proved the US is not a free country, but at least everyone knows now

I mean freedom is speech, gone. freedom of commerce, gone because only Mafia Dons hold a gun to your head and force you to sell your company, oh Mafia Don's and the corrupt US government. Freedom of association gone, and gone with a ruling fully hypocritical to their Citizens United Ruling that increased government corruption in the US. I mean not a surprise from a court that held bribery was legal and the President is above the law. The Banana Republic has come home to roost.
