Automatic Spell Machine Gun: CoC Curse BM

Hello Exiles,

Here is my Infinite Loop CoC Curse Blood Mage build.

For those who don’t know: a curse triggered by Cast on Crit using Doedre’s Undoing still generates CoC energy, even though it is triggered. I pushed both the energy gain and damage high enough for it to sustain the loop and another spell in the loop without needing Cast on Ailment (CoA) to trigger a secondary spell.

This also lets us freely choose:

  • the curse we use
  • the spell that triggers it
  • and the spell we put into the loop

I tested this on different wands with +cold, +chaos, and +all spell skills, and with almost every spell in the game. All of them work perfectly fine.
You can even run only the curse in the loop, and it will keep triggering itself until everything on the screen is dead.

How to make it work

1. Faster curse activation

You need faster curse activation speed (less curse activation delay).
I am currently at 99% (100% bricks the curse), and I highly recommend aiming for the same value because the faster it can trigger the faster the reaction gets

You can achieve this with:

  • the Impending Doom node on the tree
  • and/or Sapphire jewels, like I use.

I tested Windscream Feathered Sandals, but I couldn’t notice any difference between 99% and no delay.

2. Curse Area of Effect

The second requirement is curse AoE, because we want at least 4.7m radius so the Doedre’s zones overlap in the center.

You can achieve this with:

  • Zone of Control on the tree
  • and Sapphire jewels
  • any source of increased area of effect (for spell skills)

There are so many spell and curse combinations you can run that I still haven’t tested them all.
Frost Darts is one of my favorites so far for mapping. It has much lower boss damage than Comet, but feels significantly faster and smoother for clear.

I can highly recommend trying this build if you’re a fellow Blood Mage connoisseur like me.

I have managed this with a really janky but very fun chaos-only setup. Same requirements as you state, and make it more annoying by adding that curse duration has to be <0.15s (achievable with the reduced skill duration and reduced curse duration on skill tree). Slot hexblast as the second skill and watch the void suck your enemies out of existence...

Nice build, I just finished the infinite loop build on my Orwcle, damage wide might not as high as BM but after ran some maps, everything is working great.

How much total Curse AoE % do you need just from jewels to hit the 4.7M target?

I am calculating the setup with a 141% magic jewel effect Adorned, and it looks like I need exactly 3 jewels with a 14 (not max 15) roll to hit 99% Faster Curse Activation. Wanted to check if I need AoE prefix on all 3 of them or if I can swap one for Spell Damage. A max roll of 12% on 3 jewels would total 84% +Curse AoE. In that example, would it be 84% x the tooltip amount in a level 21/ quality 23 gem or does the AoE size also scale with additional levels on gear?

Since you do so much damage, you wouldn’t need boundless energy in coc, nor Evocational Practitioner cluster.

You could instead place Snap in in place of boundless energy, and that would cover all of the infusions you need for comet.

That would open up 30 spirit as you wouldn’t need siphon elements anymore, and you could opt to go for charge regulation instead.

The points you can get back from the Evocational Practitioner cluster plus a lot of crit chance nodes, you would make your way to Infusion of Power cluster. This makes it so you are always full on power charges with how often you use infusions for fire-infused comet.

Because of this, charge regulation’s crit chance more-multiplier will keep your crit chance easily capped. I’m at around 75% and get capped to 100% when I am in combat/with power charges.

This would allow you to unspec any crit chance nodes on your tree and instead allocate them for more crit damage bonus or more utility, thus overall improving your dps. Could also even opt to go for another jewel socket if you get enough nodes.

I got bored at this stage in the league and decided to spend many of my hard earned divines on a small project. Wouldn't it be funny to stack Energy shield for a min-level char? [https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a027](https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a027) Tabula rasa has relevant jewel mods noted on it in POB so the math actually works out since it doesn't seem to work properly in POB. second screenshot is with a lvl 29 discipline aura with 36% increased aura magnitude - I didn't wanna spend another several thousand divines on a support character, I just wanted to see how well it would work theoretically >3000 ES without aurabot is possible, however, its basically impossible in practice. As of now, there are \*18\* 2 socket uncorrupted crown of thorns left on trade - on average it takes \~11 to hit a 30% and then another 1 in 3 to get a 3 socket one. Hitting a double corrupt on said 3 socket would be better then my current one, but that's not plausible sadly. Same for the boots. Hitting a better double corrupt on the gloves and focus would likely be plausible, but I couldn't buy more bases from Finn. Grip of Kulemak 59% ES \*should\* be possible, but it already took me over 40 attempts to hit 57% so I think I'll just leave it as is. Belt I didn't find any other way besides the 25% corrupt to get ES without a level requirement - if anyone has any idea tell me. Amulet could sanctify for 19/19 but again, would require silly amounts of currency (each try is \~30 div as is with annoint + sanctify + quality). I \*think\* patient barrier should be best annoint, but correct me if I'm wrong. Total investment into this character so far is about 3000 divines, probably a bit more. further thoughts \- maximum technically possible is 3112 ES at level 2 unless I'm missing something important. I made an elemental crossbow varashta sorc this season as my starting build (goal was to exploit yoke of suffering's full potential, you can find poe ninja below, don't be fooled by the dmg tooltip, it kill ubers before they can move) and so since I was in the intel side of the tree I used my weapon swap to maximize exposure (with whispering ice) and curse magnitude. Here with some non-optimized gear I'm reaching a total of -338% res (that's -169% on bosses), meaning it's better than rakiata's. I use cursed ground support to apply the curse and icestorm (which comes with the staff) with prolonged duration and potent exposure to make the exposure last longer. This tech doesn't require much investment apart from your weapon swap and a few sockets at most so it can be plugged into many elemental builds. As it is now, it requires you to cast the spells with your weapon swap, so I use it mostly for bosses, but i might cast icestorm on bulky rares in juiced maps once in a while. If you have a skill dedicated for mapping, it'll propably better to use rakiata on it, and remove it or use another skill for bosses. With yoke and the electrocution node on the tree, enemies have 120% damage taken, more if they're cursed, on top of the giant res drop, plus you benefit from a lot of the "damage against enemies with ailments nodes" so that's why the tooltip is low (explosive grenades indicate 60k in game but they hit bosses for like 2M) at first I was playing with permafrost bolt with frost nexus + navira's fracture + fragmentation rounds, it was a fun combo and really strong for leveling but I couldn't scale navira's fracture damage in late game (I had command + minion nodes on my second weapon instead of the curse/exposure at the time) Hope this inspires some of you!
