Rakiata who?

Rakiata who?

I made an elemental crossbow varashta sorc this season as my starting build (goal was to exploit yoke of suffering's full potential, you can find poe ninja below, don't be fooled by the dmg tooltip, it kill ubers before they can move) and so since I was in the intel side of the tree I used my weapon swap to maximize exposure (with whispering ice) and curse magnitude. Here with some non-optimized gear I'm reaching a total of -338% res (that's -169% on bosses), meaning it's better than rakiata's. I use cursed ground support to apply the curse and icestorm (which comes with the staff) with prolonged duration and potent exposure to make the exposure last longer. This tech doesn't require much investment apart from your weapon swap and a few sockets at most so it can be plugged into many elemental builds.

As it is now, it requires you to cast the spells with your weapon swap, so I use it mostly for bosses, but i might cast icestorm on bulky rares in juiced maps once in a while. If you have a skill dedicated for mapping, it'll propably better to use rakiata on it, and remove it or use another skill for bosses.

Here's the poeninja: https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/McZaatar-0907/character/Dendjala

I might make a build showcase if people are interested, it's a fun league starter build. With yoke and the electrocution node on the tree, enemies have 120% damage taken, more if they're cursed, on top of the giant res drop, plus you benefit from a lot of the "damage against enemies with ailments nodes" so that's why the tooltip is low (explosive grenades indicate 60k in game but they hit bosses for like 2M)

at first I was playing with permafrost bolt with frost nexus + navira's fracture + fragmentation rounds, it was a fun combo and really strong for leveling but I couldn't scale navira's fracture damage in late game (I had command + minion nodes on my second weapon instead of the curse/exposure at the time)

Hope this inspires some of you!

Sad thing, Sacred Flame is still bugged with Doriyani Prototype.

Just plugin that in as I used a similar approach but with Infernal legion and hitting the cap consistently but not seeing the damage being done.

As a side note Icetormnisnvery great when you are under gem slot constraint if not frost bomb and an immobilizing staff or better Taryn could up quit a bit.

Nice. Build, thanks for sharing.

Infernal legion is really strong as an igniting boss killer, but with a league like that lovely current one it ended going overboard (+5 sceptre, +4 ammy ended with everything to discover Protype was not working but was a very fun journey)

Wondering how far your build could go in the top higher tier with decent (very very ultra not decent costly gears)

The value of Rakiata's isn't just that you flip resists (which is valuable), it's that you do it with a single support gem. If the points you have to put into exposure and curse magnitude could go into something else, then Rakiata's is still a ++, but if there really isn't anything better then you can use that support gem slot on just about anything else and still get a 30-40% damage boost off of it.

That 5% flammability is doing work. Please GGG make flammability a non damaging ailment for the love of Kaom.

How do you have such high move speed

ConcertoOfBlood•7 months ago•1

Interesting. May I know its interaction with frost bombs?

Sorry, I'm probably missing something super basic here, but why Verashta?

Poe1 veteran but somewhat of a poe2 newbie - how did you level this build while being on top of the tree? I leveled as a tactician a while back with grenade skills and the passives on the bottom of the tree made a big difference. Cheers!

Definitely curious to take a look at how this level of total exposure is done. That being said, HOTW isn't super viable as a league starter requirement, same with the Darkness enthroned + socketable, same with the staff.

Please I can't wait to see your build showcase.  Sorry for me previous ultra long answer  but you know after a 18hours shift that felt never ending I took  some time while commuting  and got carried a bit too much

Siege Cascade/Hailstorm Rounds seems to be good this league

I've always looked down on siege cascade for how shitty and clunky the skill is, so I decided to try it out this league and to my surprise I'm coping it. **So how does it work?** Siege Cascade does extra 100%base(146% fully corrupt) against Immobilised enemies, hence the use of the skill Freezing mark and Hailstorm rounds for 2nd swap to freeze the enemy. It also works wonder with the spirit skill Mirage Archer shooting more Siege Cascade making the damage even bigger PoE Ninja: [https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/AEgliid-0254/character/RottenVagigi](https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/AEgliid-0254/character/RottenVagigi)

Is there a reason everyone uses Comet with CoC?

The +1 second to Total attack time means that energy costs for Comet are quite a bit higher than what they would be for something like Frostbolt or Spark or whatever. I know it's a big splashy skill, but wouldn't it be better to run something like Ice Nova, Frostbolt, or Spark? Literally any other spell that doesn't get the total attack time penalty? I did run the numbers, and assuming you're shotgunning with spark and nothing is infused or supported by other gems, Spark does >3x more single-target damage per energy cost. I do see people using spark, but poe.ninja has 77% of CoC users using Comet. Edit: The main crux of the argument is that Comet has an energy cost penalty due to how energy costs are calculated. Any ability with "+X to Total attack time" has that amount included in the energy cost at a 2x penalty. See the tooltip: https://poe2db.tw/Energy#Acronym So the more succinct question is, why are people spending 300 energy casting a single comet when they could be casting spark for 70 and casting it 4.2x more often? Comet does about the same average damage as Spark on a single target (assuming all 9 projectiles hit). Edit 2: Nevermind, I can't read. Spark can't shotgun, so it's single target is ass. Frostbolt is then the next best example I could find, but it's not as obviously better or worse, so I'll test it out. Thanks everyone!

Favorite Twink?

After your first main has been put to bed or lucky drop just sold - what has been your favorite build to play with the best gear you can give it through the campaign? My favorite has albeen mercenary, with a few good items blasting is a breeze and fun to play… Same feels with minions but they never feel truly OP for me

What can I do to improve survivability and damage?

Is there anything I can do to improve my blood mage? Or is there a better comet coc build you’d recommend that’s not spark? Tyvm

Tips on how to make this Wolf Form Witch Hunter tankier against ground effects?

POB: [https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a2e2](https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a2e2) The Gist: Armor and Elemental defenses on both weapon sets, shapeshifting power on weapon set 1, spell utility on weapon set 2. So I made this character to use Sorcery Ward as my primary defense along with armor, but turns out DOTs and ground effects ignore Sorcery Ward completely and go straight for my health. Not to mention certain enemies have attacks that aren't considered hits, so Sorcery Ward doesn't protect against those either. In Wolf Form, I have about 6k Sorcery Ward which is plenty for general use, but some maps have tons of ground effects that melt my health. Usually I can just life-flask through it, but it does sometimes get to the point where I can't react fast enough. How much Sorcery Ward is enough? Should I swap some of my armor increase rolls on my equipment for life rolls?

Disciple of Varashta or other non coc build

Looking for ideas on a new build. I have a nearly fully kitted coc blood mage that is super fun and just looking to kill some time on a chill play and was thinking of playing the new disciple of Varashta class as I've never played it. Only criteria is *no coc* and ideally can farm end game on a moderate budget. I still have ~800 or so divs I think, much more if I liquidate so that shouldn't hold me back much. If I do go disciple, is there a chaos version? Im still looking for meaningful ways to use my palm of the dreamer and a wand/palm could be fun as well. Also open to non twister chayula builds - I've always thought the class looked like a lot of fun but doesn't seem like it gets ran much
