Do I have to swap to Comet? (Entangle Oracle)

First, my build: https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/Drakonath-2370/character/PolpoGiovanna

Some notes; I'm using coc arc to apply 51% shock on everything using drenched from thunderstorm (lv18) and shock conduction II. Also storm procs plants. I'm using boneshatter to move, so I can take unwavering stance to not get stunned. Timeless jewel is giving me 60% crit chance and %40 increased phys. I currently have 50% crit chance, and I aim to stay there, so I average 1 reroll to crit per hit.

Hey all, I'm playing a "pure" entangle Oracle build, as you can see on the above link. My build obviously has enough horsepower to do "all content" alone with HH but I need more damage. I'm playing in a party with an mf culler friend, and we are doing a full juiced (73 rooms) temple, and my build just doesn't have enough damage for it. If I'm alone and I equip a HH, I can go through my temple pretty quickly even though it's still not buttery smooth. But when my mf culler friend comes in, HH goes out the window (I use an ingenuity with 60+ effect on rings) and mobs HP/dmg increases a lot. Which in turn we go very slow and die a lot. We can survive most of the hits that we take from overpowered rares but they outlast us because my damage just isn't enough.

It's obvious that I don't have a mirror tier staff and +3 to all entangle skills. I also need to buy a spirit amulet with more mana so I can fit in convalescence and maybe 1 more aura. On pob staff and jewel together double my damage in theory. But seeing how my build plays currently, I don't know if those will be enough and/or if I ever will be able to afford them. Yeah 70+ room temple drops a lot of currency with an mf culler (we average 50 divs per run because half the rooms are not fully upgraded yet) but it takes around half an hour maybe more to clear it on our current setup. And it's really frustrating to die a lot. Therefore, we aren't "printing mirrors" to buy aforementioned items in an instant.

So my question is, should we keep grinding for a better staff (thinking 200+ both spell and spell phys) and a +3 entangle gem or switch to a coc comet setup? Or something else that can scale to do full juice temple in a party? Temple is on my Oracle, so I have to play this char.

Honestly you should swap to Doedre undoing ele weakness COC comet. That build clears juiced temples without breaking a sweat. It's the next strongest after bloodmage and stormweaver with Adonia's Ego.

Disclaimer: I am just a random player, I make no claims of expertise or good advice.

I have some questions about your passive tree and weapon set 1. Do you use attacks? I assume you use bone shatter on primed enemies as your only attack? Do you use it often? If not, I would recommend changing your passive tree a lot to drop all attack nodes (unless there is something I am missing which is certainly possible!).

I use entangle as my main skill end game, but I do use CoC comets/living bomb and CoA double Arc. I also removed thunderstorm and accelerated growth. Things tend to be dead before the plants would bloom and the benefit of wetting enemies is meh.

My build is all life taken from mana (no mind over matter), arch mage, and mana stacking.

Embitter in entangle freezes everything, generating fire infusions for comets. The loss of levels for comet (not a physical spell and my wand is +phys) is more than offset by fire infusing. The living bomb in CoC generates more fire infusions.

I am not sure what is up with my entangle dmg, but in game it is around 145k dps on the tooltip.

I wanted to add in a separate comment, you might look at swapping arc/shock in CoC for Bone cage and astral projection. I notice your arc is low level, but I have not seen arc used like that often, as you need it to hit hard to do dmg. I think you are just using it to shock enemies, but I think you are better served by hitting them with something harder, rather than priming them for dmg from entangle/vines.

Comet hits really hard. You can continue to use entangle as your main spell. Buy a lvl 21 comet and slot in place of arc on coc.

Try ice wall CoC instead of comet for survivability help. I run just entangle for all content. I recently moved thunderstorm to spellslinger and added ice wall. Tier 3 SIM as my testing ground

I decided to try stacking energy shield - at minimum level.

I got bored at this stage in the league and decided to spend many of my hard earned divines on a small project. Wouldn't it be funny to stack Energy shield for a min-level char? [https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a027](https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a027) Tabula rasa has relevant jewel mods noted on it in POB so the math actually works out since it doesn't seem to work properly in POB. second screenshot is with a lvl 29 discipline aura with 36% increased aura magnitude - I didn't wanna spend another several thousand divines on a support character, I just wanted to see how well it would work theoretically >3000 ES without aurabot is possible, however, its basically impossible in practice. As of now, there are \*18\* 2 socket uncorrupted crown of thorns left on trade - on average it takes \~11 to hit a 30% and then another 1 in 3 to get a 3 socket one. Hitting a double corrupt on said 3 socket would be better then my current one, but that's not plausible sadly. Same for the boots. Hitting a better double corrupt on the gloves and focus would likely be plausible, but I couldn't buy more bases from Finn. Grip of Kulemak 59% ES \*should\* be possible, but it already took me over 40 attempts to hit 57% so I think I'll just leave it as is. Belt I didn't find any other way besides the 25% corrupt to get ES without a level requirement - if anyone has any idea tell me. Amulet could sanctify for 19/19 but again, would require silly amounts of currency (each try is \~30 div as is with annoint + sanctify + quality). I \*think\* patient barrier should be best annoint, but correct me if I'm wrong. Total investment into this character so far is about 3000 divines, probably a bit more. further thoughts \- maximum technically possible is 3112 ES at level 2 unless I'm missing something important. POB [https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a02a](https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a02a) \- doubting this but: is it possible to get an ascendency at this low level by skipping straight to geonor with a helper? In which case it might be possible that xp penalties kicking it would allow me to ascend at lvl 2? This would allow +20% +20% (ascendency) +60% (jewel) ES, which would get me to 3218 ES (actual build) / 3732 ES (max technically possible) Did I miss anything?

Rakiata who?

Rakiata who?

I made an elemental crossbow varashta sorc this season as my starting build (goal was to exploit yoke of suffering's full potential, you can find poe ninja below, don't be fooled by the dmg tooltip, it kill ubers before they can move) and so since I was in the intel side of the tree I used my weapon swap to maximize exposure (with whispering ice) and curse magnitude. Here with some non-optimized gear I'm reaching a total of -338% res (that's -169% on bosses), meaning it's better than rakiata's. I use cursed ground support to apply the curse and icestorm (which comes with the staff) with prolonged duration and potent exposure to make the exposure last longer. This tech doesn't require much investment apart from your weapon swap and a few sockets at most so it can be plugged into many elemental builds. As it is now, it requires you to cast the spells with your weapon swap, so I use it mostly for bosses, but i might cast icestorm on bulky rares in juiced maps once in a while. If you have a skill dedicated for mapping, it'll propably better to use rakiata on it, and remove it or use another skill for bosses. Here's the poeninja: [https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/McZaatar-0907/character/Dendjala](https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/McZaatar-0907/character/Dendjala) I might make a build showcase if people are interested, it's a fun league starter build. With yoke and the electrocution node on the tree, enemies have 120% damage taken, more if they're cursed, on top of the giant res drop, plus you benefit from a lot of the "damage against enemies with ailments nodes" so that's why the tooltip is low (explosive grenades indicate 60k in game but they hit bosses for like 2M) at first I was playing with permafrost bolt with frost nexus + navira's fracture + fragmentation rounds, it was a fun combo and really strong for leveling but I couldn't scale navira's fracture damage in late game (I had command + minion nodes on my second weapon instead of the curse/exposure at the time) Hope this inspires some of you!
