Looking for a build to commit to until next league.

Hey gamers,

I bought the game this december, been playing a lot of different builds in every league variation (sc trade, sc ssf, hc ssf multiple times restarting too). Now that we know we still have 2 months left of this league it got me thinking that I should look for a build I have fun playing and can commit to until the end of the league. I also wanna build the juiciest temple eventually. I wanna be able to use HH so builds that require the corrupted soul tether is a no go. I have 35 divs to work with at the start. I wanna level a new character to start fresh in sc trade so some currency might go into leveling gear to make it easier and faster. The builds I've played so far: minions (lich), plants (oracle, varashta), wyvern (shaman), poisonburst (pathfinder), shield wall (titan), djinn varashta and bear (shaman), oil grenade shenanigans (pathfinder) and EDC (lich). Enjoyed them all but I don't feel like commiting to either of these for 2 months, maybe only poisonburst PF. Builds I have in mind: whirling assault, glacial lance, coc comet (but I don't feel like having 0 visibility during all the gameplay), I really liked Tati's Spark Totem Oracle build but I wanna be somewhat tanky to do all juiced content, Ice Shot. I kinda want something snappy, tanky and good for all content and eventually be able to do juiced temple as well. I know my budget is low but I will work hard to build up my character.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I know you said you’re not really interested in committing to plant oracle, but that’s the only build I’ve played this league and I’ve enjoyed it a lot. Scales really well for the temple, but you do end up “needing” several thousand divines in gear to efficiently clear the fully juiced temple (kill tanky rares and room bosses instantly or in 1 second instead of 5+) but that’s probably true for most builds. I’ve been thinking about rerolling a spark CoC blood mage, but don’t know if I can convince myself to build another temple.

I just bought my first ever mirror in PoE2 thanks to Poisonburst Pathfinder.

I ve probably invested around 4-5k div into it and it just keeps scaling and scaling. Might for for lvl 100 with it, currently halfway to 99.

Super tanky, blasts through temples, one shots uber pinnacle bosses...I just love it. Played this in 0.3 too, but not like this.

I actually made a whirling slash/twister build. My first on my own build. Threw poison on the twisters and whirling slash chance and the poison magnitude just deletes mobs, bosses go down quite well actually but it could still be tuned better. Also have rapid assault and explosive spear for the bosses. Been really fun though, first build to get me through all the ascendancies and almost maxed T15 maps. Still a little squishy though.

COC Comet. No visibility but it doesn’t matter since nothing survive around you.

I only quit the league because my temple looped.

I’ve had the most fun lately with my xbow witch hunter. Based on a build from Wollie. I went with a surround build using the constricting command helmet and defy 2 for lucky hits and being able to use the skill with no mana. I also used thunderstorm to shock so I could use shock burst rounds for my single dps. Pretty fast play and very tanky. Should be able to get it started pretty cheap. Also the prism of belief for shock burst was only around 100 divs when I bought it.

Ive been trying hard to create a molten strike build. Boneshatter for clear and Armour breaker for bossing or hard rares. Still working on the build, but it clears all the games content.

Check out my build. One button, immortal, juicy temple no problem, and on top of that, no visibility problem. I leveled from 97 to 100 without dying once.

I think it's still a bit early to bother with researching which builds will be strong/powerful/fun next league.

Sure, you can look at the current meta as a baseline of what is already strong, but it's important to wait for next league patch notes to figure out what of the current list is "strong" but gets buffed or is "good" already but gets buffed, those are typically the meta builds of the next league. A lot of the times they under-buff the weakest builds (like chayula) so you can't ONLY rely on patch notes.

But like, strong builds that get small or modest buffs is how we've ended up at the meta almost every single patch since launch. (other than lightning spear which wasn't patched into power until a week into the league).

I will say GENERALLY a safe archtype every single patch has been some variation of 1) grenades 2) spark 3) contagion/ed 4) monk 5) ranger/amazon doing ranged things.

I decided to try stacking energy shield - at minimum level.

I got bored at this stage in the league and decided to spend many of my hard earned divines on a small project. Wouldn't it be funny to stack Energy shield for a min-level char? [https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a027](https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a027) Tabula rasa has relevant jewel mods noted on it in POB so the math actually works out since it doesn't seem to work properly in POB. second screenshot is with a lvl 29 discipline aura with 36% increased aura magnitude - I didn't wanna spend another several thousand divines on a support character, I just wanted to see how well it would work theoretically >3000 ES without aurabot is possible, however, its basically impossible in practice. As of now, there are \*18\* 2 socket uncorrupted crown of thorns left on trade - on average it takes \~11 to hit a 30% and then another 1 in 3 to get a 3 socket one. Hitting a double corrupt on said 3 socket would be better then my current one, but that's not plausible sadly. Same for the boots. Hitting a better double corrupt on the gloves and focus would likely be plausible, but I couldn't buy more bases from Finn. Grip of Kulemak 59% ES \*should\* be possible, but it already took me over 40 attempts to hit 57% so I think I'll just leave it as is. Belt I didn't find any other way besides the 25% corrupt to get ES without a level requirement - if anyone has any idea tell me. Amulet could sanctify for 19/19 but again, would require silly amounts of currency (each try is \~30 div as is with annoint + sanctify + quality). I \*think\* patient barrier should be best annoint, but correct me if I'm wrong. Total investment into this character so far is about 3000 divines, probably a bit more. further thoughts \- maximum technically possible is 3112 ES at level 2 unless I'm missing something important. POB [https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a02a](https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a02a) \- doubting this but: is it possible to get an ascendency at this low level by skipping straight to geonor with a helper? In which case it might be possible that xp penalties kicking it would allow me to ascend at lvl 2? This would allow +20% +20% (ascendency) +60% (jewel) ES, which would get me to 3218 ES (actual build) / 3732 ES (max technically possible) Did I miss anything?

Rakiata who?

Rakiata who?

I made an elemental crossbow varashta sorc this season as my starting build (goal was to exploit yoke of suffering's full potential, you can find poe ninja below, don't be fooled by the dmg tooltip, it kill ubers before they can move) and so since I was in the intel side of the tree I used my weapon swap to maximize exposure (with whispering ice) and curse magnitude. Here with some non-optimized gear I'm reaching a total of -338% res (that's -169% on bosses), meaning it's better than rakiata's. I use cursed ground support to apply the curse and icestorm (which comes with the staff) with prolonged duration and potent exposure to make the exposure last longer. This tech doesn't require much investment apart from your weapon swap and a few sockets at most so it can be plugged into many elemental builds. As it is now, it requires you to cast the spells with your weapon swap, so I use it mostly for bosses, but i might cast icestorm on bulky rares in juiced maps once in a while. If you have a skill dedicated for mapping, it'll propably better to use rakiata on it, and remove it or use another skill for bosses. Here's the poeninja: [https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/McZaatar-0907/character/Dendjala](https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/McZaatar-0907/character/Dendjala) I might make a build showcase if people are interested, it's a fun league starter build. With yoke and the electrocution node on the tree, enemies have 120% damage taken, more if they're cursed, on top of the giant res drop, plus you benefit from a lot of the "damage against enemies with ailments nodes" so that's why the tooltip is low (explosive grenades indicate 60k in game but they hit bosses for like 2M) at first I was playing with permafrost bolt with frost nexus + navira's fracture + fragmentation rounds, it was a fun combo and really strong for leveling but I couldn't scale navira's fracture damage in late game (I had command + minion nodes on my second weapon instead of the curse/exposure at the time) Hope this inspires some of you!
