It is WILD that I cannot easily look up PoE2 ascendancy classes and their passives in game or official media

The official website does not have them.

The game does not display them when creating a character.

The best hope I have is to find one of the third-party passive tree websites, spec into the class I wanna' look at in their sim, and then inspect nodes, hoping their tree is up to date.

This barrier to information adds frustration every time I make a new character in this game. I'm literally gonna' morb. I love the game - but if we're talking about rough edges, this is definitely some friction I snag on all the time.

I agree. I downloaded PoB a while ago and it's become my source of information, along with PoEDB and CraftofExile since 0.2

When i jump back into Last Epoch, it always feels amazing that things like the game guide, and loot filters are so accessible to anyone without having to trawl 3rd party sites. Huge difference in the games there.

There are a lot of QoL things like that missing.

For instance, I was shopping for my first Megalomaniac Diamond last night, only had one target notable I needed.

The in-game trade window doesn't have the tooltip windows for keywords, and I don't know all 1 million notables off the top of my head. So it just added a lot of friction having to look up each one in a browser to know what the second effect I was getting would be.

I feel like no one read the post.

Yes, it is available on PoB or the wiki or poe2db.

Its not available on official media.

Agreed! the ascendancies (non-hidden at least) should be shown on character creation.

it's kinda built into their design philosophy, they want us to "figure it out" and just try new stuff. Problem is that the game isn't built well for trying things out and you are penalized too much for it, and everything relies too much on rng (can't buy skill gems for example).

I think the “early access” argument gets used too often but on this one I’ll definitely give them a pass. There will be many more QoL improvements (like maybe in-game wiki) once they complete the bulk of development work

I'm one of those rare people who actually prefers the third party software for things like this. I just use the wiki or PoB and I think they have good UIs. Like I can see and compare all of the ascendancies for a starting class really easily since they are right next to each other in PoB.

"Oh, i wonder how this works" alt-tabs

I once asked a game dev subreddit why ganes are so shit at informing players. It's a complicated problem apparently
