Are there any viable Witch skeleton-only minion builds?

I’ve tried really hard to find anything but haven’t had any luck. There are a few minion builds that use the giant wasps or wolves or Vaal, or use Druid with some other combination of minions, but I would really like to just use witch with the skeletons. I tried to do this a couple months ago and gave up around level 60 as it was taking me literally up to 20 minutes to beat bosses

So bear with me on this, this is my build and its kinda convoluted and I can't be bothered to actually get screenshots so I'll just give you the theory (You will probably build it better than me anyway ha)

So the basic scepter skeletons are amazing. They cost less the higher level they are and you get the first two free and as such you can have a lot of them even when using other buff spirit abilities.

Their health is even fairly decent for how cheap they are, which is what brings us to the actual build that I have been using.

Minion Instability will cause your minions to explode upon reaching 15% life and deal a % of their max health as fire damage to anything around them. Infernal Army Ignites nearby enemies and deals damage to your minions, which will cause them to blow up.

I have gone through the tree and enhanced my minion's health and revive speed a great deal, and I also have a unique chestplate that makes them revive faster. All told, it takes them about 3s to respawn and 4s to die.

I have the buff support that causes my dying reviving minions to drop death remnants upon death so that I can revive them faster, but ultimately I use this because it means that every minion that dies gives me remnants that due to picking the remants restory 3% passive nodes, means they each give me 3% of my max health and mana.

I am running blackflame covenant and specced into higher chaos damage, have lich ascendancy for more chaos damage, and have on minion death casting tornado and the despair curse with the support gem that makes rune-type spells leave fire behind. I am also using MoM, so when I recover mana its basically just more health.

My skeletons are also equipped with the supports that make them return mana to me, so each one gives me like 8% max mana regen in addition when they die.

In the end this means that my skeletons spawn, run at enemy, ignite them and then explode for hundreds of damage leaving behind 27% (9 total skeletons atm) of my health and mana worth of remnants, and recoups 72% of my max mana over 8s, then in 3s they respawn again. After their death, a tornado spawns which is automatically enhanced by the fire from the curse's rune support, and due to blackflame covenant all these instances of fire actually deal chaos damage. I have the 'energy shield recharge starts when minions respawn' so that starts up when they do, and a necklace unique that applies my life regen to ES just for extra speed there. I use the vine fissures to help slow down enemy movement so that my skeletons can deal with them faster, but pretty much anything below magic gets instantly killed in the explosion, and rares of my level tend to lose a good chunk at a time.

It's been good to me, but I can't totally recommend it as I have it because I can see a few different collapse scenarios coming in my future as things get harder (I'm just about level 70 now) but overall its been a very fun and actually pretty powerful build. The main idea is that you just get as much spirit as possible and use a shield and as many chaos DOTs as possible to support the minions as they bomb rush the enemy, healing and recovering you in the process. (Half the mana goes towards paying for the cast on minion death though, as the spells are being cast 9 times over lol that is one of the many inefficiencies in my current setup)

I too am a skelly boy enjoyer. I gotta say IMO your best bet is lich witch, unholy might and rupture the soul are just so good. You can go reavers and still stack rage. This can actually get some crazy damage stacked if you maintain the rage. I’ve had them hit over 85k dps, which since they have 2 weapons is x2 and have 15 of them running around. Bosses melt. Not cheap though, uul-netols embrace is pretty important. Wither magnitude helps here too.

Next is probably Brutes. Cheapest option to get a +3 prism of belief, and their aoe slam works well with rupture the soul. Currently trying to mana stack with my build to see how much damage unholy might can get up to.

I think there’s a world where storm mages can work with stormfire to help scale the damage, problem is you still need a decent frontline of melee minions and the best bet there is usually specters. You could hp stack basic warriors with meat shield, infernal legion, enhanced ignite and elemental army just to save some points on the tree. This could be okay, I haven’t tried it though but I was gonna try it some time this week to see if I can make them work.

One thing I will say though having wolf pack helps in all of these scenarios so that might be worth a compromise! They are a great supporting unit. Also sorry for my bad formatting/typing I’m on mobile.

Of course you can. Skeletal snipers are OP. Build into their command skill.

I decided to try stacking energy shield - at minimum level.

I got bored at this stage in the league and decided to spend many of my hard earned divines on a small project. Wouldn't it be funny to stack Energy shield for a min-level char? [https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a027](https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a027) Tabula rasa has relevant jewel mods noted on it in POB so the math actually works out since it doesn't seem to work properly in POB. second screenshot is with a lvl 29 discipline aura with 36% increased aura magnitude - I didn't wanna spend another several thousand divines on a support character, I just wanted to see how well it would work theoretically >3000 ES without aurabot is possible, however, its basically impossible in practice. As of now, there are \*18\* 2 socket uncorrupted crown of thorns left on trade - on average it takes \~11 to hit a 30% and then another 1 in 3 to get a 3 socket one. Hitting a double corrupt on said 3 socket would be better then my current one, but that's not plausible sadly. Same for the boots. Hitting a better double corrupt on the gloves and focus would likely be plausible, but I couldn't buy more bases from Finn. Grip of Kulemak 59% ES \*should\* be possible, but it already took me over 40 attempts to hit 57% so I think I'll just leave it as is. Belt I didn't find any other way besides the 25% corrupt to get ES without a level requirement - if anyone has any idea tell me. Amulet could sanctify for 19/19 but again, would require silly amounts of currency (each try is \~30 div as is with annoint + sanctify + quality). I \*think\* patient barrier should be best annoint, but correct me if I'm wrong. Total investment into this character so far is about 3000 divines, probably a bit more. further thoughts \- maximum technically possible is 3112 ES at level 2 unless I'm missing something important. POB [https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a02a](https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a02a) \- doubting this but: is it possible to get an ascendency at this low level by skipping straight to geonor with a helper? In which case it might be possible that xp penalties kicking it would allow me to ascend at lvl 2? This would allow +20% +20% (ascendency) +60% (jewel) ES, which would get me to 3218 ES (actual build) / 3732 ES (max technically possible) Did I miss anything?

Rakiata who?

Rakiata who?

I made an elemental crossbow varashta sorc this season as my starting build (goal was to exploit yoke of suffering's full potential, you can find poe ninja below, don't be fooled by the dmg tooltip, it kill ubers before they can move) and so since I was in the intel side of the tree I used my weapon swap to maximize exposure (with whispering ice) and curse magnitude. Here with some non-optimized gear I'm reaching a total of -338% res (that's -169% on bosses), meaning it's better than rakiata's. I use cursed ground support to apply the curse and icestorm (which comes with the staff) with prolonged duration and potent exposure to make the exposure last longer. This tech doesn't require much investment apart from your weapon swap and a few sockets at most so it can be plugged into many elemental builds. As it is now, it requires you to cast the spells with your weapon swap, so I use it mostly for bosses, but i might cast icestorm on bulky rares in juiced maps once in a while. If you have a skill dedicated for mapping, it'll propably better to use rakiata on it, and remove it or use another skill for bosses. Here's the poeninja: [https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/McZaatar-0907/character/Dendjala](https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/McZaatar-0907/character/Dendjala) I might make a build showcase if people are interested, it's a fun league starter build. With yoke and the electrocution node on the tree, enemies have 120% damage taken, more if they're cursed, on top of the giant res drop, plus you benefit from a lot of the "damage against enemies with ailments nodes" so that's why the tooltip is low (explosive grenades indicate 60k in game but they hit bosses for like 2M) at first I was playing with permafrost bolt with frost nexus + navira's fracture + fragmentation rounds, it was a fun combo and really strong for leveling but I couldn't scale navira's fracture damage in late game (I had command + minion nodes on my second weapon instead of the curse/exposure at the time) Hope this inspires some of you!
