90% of POE2 guides are more in the early concept stage than actual full-fledged guides.
Even if it looks cool at first glance, you're probably just not seeing the significant list of weaknesses and the huge potential for improvement.
What makes it even worse is that many people can't afford to follow a guide strictly (slightly worse gear, cheaper crafts, ignoring gems, etc.).
In the end, you don't get a build to be proud of—you get a knockoff of a knockoff.
I haven't seen your build, but I can assume you don't fully understand how damage scales in builds like ED/C. ED/C is a simple and straightforward concept. But if you're only pressing those two buttons and not layering mechanics, the magic might never happen.
A month ago, my ED/C Infernalist killed Uber Arbiter in 22 seconds (including animation time between phases). I think that can easily compete with most meta mirror-tier builds.
I think with Lich combined with Umbral Well + Sigil of Power + Archmage + Mana Tempest and a proper build/gear, you can also achieve massive boss damage. But I'm not sure about the balance with defensive mechanics there—that needs testing.
