Deleting all social media, best decision ever

No you cannot keep up with me, you will not know anything about my life or see updates with my appearance.

I used to have a little following and after Covid maybe 2023 I had a realization about family & “friends” when I would take breaks they would say “You haven’t posted in a while” or they would question why I deleted or temporarily deleted profiles. But I noticed we barely had conversations on phone or texting… just them watching me online.

Now I am permanently gone there is no photos of me on the internet if you want to see me or talk to me you will have to call me or reach out in some way.l or be reciprocal when I reach out.

I am not an image on the internet I am a human being with a beating heart.

Also after receiving stalking or weird jealousy about photos even though my whole life I was told because of my height and “ beauty” that I should be a model but once I tried it made people call me conceited or XYZ, like no…all of you guys overly talk about my appearance since I was a child constantly so I tried to do what everyone said my whole life and all it did was cause a rift due to me receiving attention.

I don’t want internet fame or to be observed online.

Something else is I had this happen a few times where men would take my innocent selfies NO CLEAVEDGE NO SKIN showing and I would be the green screen and them videoing themselves jacking off to me.

All of social media is disturbing it makes people compare themselves and be weird and perverted that’s all. 3 years no social media 💪 join the wave

This is healthy and I'm glad you did it! I think it's gonna be a "reactionary" trend REALLLLLLY SOON.

I haven't gone that far, but I no longer have the IG app on my phone (or any other "social media") and I check in weekly on the laptop. I only use it to KIT with people around the world and during travel. Never realized how much pressure there was to POST EVERY-FREAKING-THING. And now? I frankly don't care and have even stopped taking pictures of IRL gatherings.

Absolutely liberating.

Edit: Yes, reddit is "social media", but it's not the same imo. Apps like tiktok, FB, IG are all based on "selling yourself out" for the most part... and posting/selling your REAL LIFE. Reddit isn't really made for that or we'd be seeing pics of botox'd teens trying to sell us garbage.

I just recently went through this, and I do agree that we are coming to a new phase of life where people are starting to actually realize the effects of social media and its consequences for letting it consume our entire lives and personalities.

Idk about you but I’m thankful I grew up in a “normal” environment that didn’t utilize electronics or AI the way we do now (late 90s kid who grew up between the U.S. and Mexico border, life is very different between both countries but the need for attention is the same, at least right now in today’s time). So I’m fucking thankful I got to live life like a normal kid. I loved hanging out with friends at their house, at the park, around school and our neighborhoods, walking down the street to the local convenience store or gas station for some snacks and then talk about our days at school.

You can’t do that shit anymore without feeling like you’re constantly being watched. If I trip and fall people won’t help they’ll just stare and laugh and say, “how embarrassing that person just fell I’ve gotta go tell my followers about this dummy”. Obviously we don’t know if that will always be the case but if you focus on society’s current behavior, we reward the downfall of others. We reward overconsumption and data that we really shouldn’t be exposed to.

I recently recognized that I’ve spent half of my life on social media already and I’m not even 30 yet! I will be next year lol. But I remember when social media was actually fun, now it’s WAYYYY too saturated and there’s too much smoke and mirrors that are making people believe everything they see online to be true.

We shall see what happens to society and things like social media, specifically Instagram/Facebook/Tiktok. Glad to know I’m not the only one feeling this way!

Any people that runs 100 to 10k followers pages (any social media)?

Hey all, I own a business that involves many clients that promote their product, art or website with TikTok (also Instagram, Youtube and Facebook). I want to offer them a way to post their content, or to get content created and posted for them on existing TikTok pages. Basically you got pages in a specific theme (sport, anime, cinema, culture, memes...) and you rent it for a specific period of time. You get paid every month, and all you have to do is basically connecting the account once to our system. You can opt-out anytime you want, you keep the full ownership of the account. That's basically a way to monetize your pages passively. For now I'm doing it myself with my own pages (3 tiktok pages with 500 to 3k followers, and 1 6k subscribers Youtube channel), I made around $800 renting these for less than a month.
