Lithium ion batteries are great until they fail, then they’re scary as hell.

And some of my relatives still make fun of me for disposing of batteries properly

If I was the black SUV I think I would’ve preferred the dump a little further back

Those trucks are so expensive and take several months to procure. Having a truck go down can be a huge deal for a municipality

That is one straight thinking driver.

I assume this is going to become a bigger and bigger problem as the years pass.

I had a spicy pillow battery just recently and wasn't sure where to take it. Called Public Works to see if there was a disposal site at the local recycling center. The idiot on the phone told me I could just chuck it in the bin. I explained that you cannot do that because it's a significant fire risk. She continued to argue with me and finally said I could just take it to the recycling center if I felt it was necessary. Smh
