Brother, the brand, makes good printers in my experience

Edit: shouldn't be a surprise that they're exempt from the worst American tech/finance trends, since Brother's a century-old Japanese company. Didn't know that, myself.

Capitalism is working as intended, it’s just the intention is exploitation of the most people

We got a brother printer years ago and we haven’t had any issues

Noted.

Never ever, ever buy a HP printer.

Thanks OP, I consider that a bullet dodged.

Good job I bought a Canon one.

Capitalism has obviously led to numerous inventions. That doesn’t mean it’s a perfect system. It just needs to get regulated

“Capitalism bad” is boring

Is this even true? We have multiple HP printers at my job and we're not subscribed to anything. I literally just bought ink off amazon yesterday for one of our large printers and replaced it with no issue.

“Paying for features that used to be free”

That’s way too generous. Now you’re paying for features that you already paid for. That’s the whole point of the subscription, you paid once, yes. But what about second payment?

You paid for the printer, you paid for the ink. You paid for the printer’s functionality when you bought the printer. The subscription is there to make you pay for the functionality you already paid for.

It always blows my mind how in the age where we all have pocket computers some folks can’t Google the product they wanna purchase before immediately rushing to Amazon to click buy
